Hi I have a Delonghi Dragon 3 oil filled radiator which is not working. It trips the main fuse if I plug it in and switch it on. Is this likely to be repairable? Any thoughts, suggestions welcome. Best wishes, be well Rachel

Hello Rachel, This forum hasnt worked as well as I had hoped, and I think none of the menders are watching, and almost nobody has used it so far. Anyhow, I will answer the best I can.
Is it actually tripping the main trip in your distribution board? It may have RCD written on the trip. This effectively tells if there is 'earth leakage', and is not uncommon on old heaters. It could be the heater element insulation degrading. I which case, the heater is unlikely to be worth mending. A trip can however be caused by damp or something else on the electrics... even an insect or two inside. Its unlikely to be an easy fix unfortunately.
I have no idea of you experience/competence, but do make sure that its UN PLUGGED if you decide to take any screws off to look inside. Also, make it safe if you deem it scrap, e.g. remove the fuse from the plug.
